Stats show Rizwan is best wicket-keeper batsman in world since 2018

Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan was all over after he registered his first century in Test cricket.
The 28-year-old Rizwan, who is also Babar Azam’s deputy in this format, rescued Pakistan as he scored unbeaten 115 in the second innings of final Test, leading the home side to a respectable total of 298.
It was not the first time, he scored runs when team needed them the most. He did in New Zealand when he led Pakistan in two matches.
He scored three straight fifties against the Kiwis and two on England tour before, rewarding him as the Man of the Series from Pakistan.
Though the results were not in Pakistan’s favour on the above-mentioned tours but his emergence with the willow has been great which adds value in the late middle-order.

He made his Test debut in 2016 but did not establish himself as the regular wicket-keeper of the side until the 2019 tour of Australia.
Digging into the stats, the Peshawar-born stands at the top in terms of batting as a keeper. No keeper averages more with the bat than Rizwan in Tests since 2018.
In 18 innings, he has accumulated 741 runs at an average of 46.31. After him is India’s Rishabh Pant (1171 runs at average of 45.3 and New Zealand’s BJ Watling (1071 runs at average of 38.25).
With his emergence as a Test player, there is no second argument that other wicketkeepers and domestic performers have their work cut out.
